The beads of this exquisite rosary are the amazing rare NATURAL MULTICOLOR
MOSS AGATE (6 mm). The Paters are made with a combination of 8 mm BRONZITE
GEMSTONE and THE BEAUTIFUL AUTHENTIC SWAROVSKY PEARLS.
This gemstones are wrapped in a very thick (22 gauge) .925 sterling silver wire.
This is a very rare moss agate gemstone. Often tiny quartz crystals form within the agate stone and
add to the beauty and uniqueness of individual stones. These crystals are called drusy (sometimes
misspelled as druzy). Lapidaries often cut just the drusy from an agate and jewelers use these
drusy cabochons as the main stone or as an accent stone in their jewelry designs.
These bronzite beads are in a main color of lovely chocolate brown with golden swirls that can
glitter in the sunshine or bright light. This unique character makes them become one of the most
phenomenal gemstones. Some of these bronzite beads are also with some black shades and some
are in a reddish chocolate brown color. All of these variations of color and pattern are due to their
natural characteristics without any dyes.
The ANTIQUE CROSS (2 in.) is of italian ORIGIN: 1930s or earlier. From old rosary, still had
a few beads attached. Had a history we will never know as it was bent. We reshaped it .
Magnificent filigree work.
The crucifix is accompanied with a ANTIQUE AVE MARIA INITIALS CENTER
(.75inches) It has a beautiful opework. This center is probably from the late 19c, around the 1880s
(Europe). Exquisite.
The medal below the crucifix is a FILIGREE FRAMED IMAGE OF MARY /
CHILD JESUS - 1880: This openwork medal of Mary holding the child Jesus is probably a
souvenir from a holy site (apparition site) as the background images a church and a bridge over a
river. It stands alone in beauty regardless of its symbolism but when identified, we will post more
information. A glorious gift for one who is celebrating a special day in their life.
